National Transfer Week October 17 - 22, 2022

National Transfer Student Week is a celebration of transfer students and the professionals who support their journeys.  Join us during the third week in October to help celebrate our Transfer Knights!

 

The purpose of this week is to:

  • Celebrate Rutgers University’s transfer student community and professionals who support them
  • Build community among our transfer student population
  • Highlight transfer student diversity and the scope of their achievements across campus
  • Connect transfer students to resources to support their academic, personal and professional success.

Nominate a Scarlet Knight Transfer Champion

Nominate a member of the Rutgers community (faculty, staff, student....ANYONE) who has impacted your transfer student experience at Rutgers. You can anonymously recognize as many folks as you'd like and are welcome to leave comments for your nominees. Nominees will receive an email notifying them that they've been recognized and will receive a small gift from the Office of Student Orientation and Transfer Programs in the Division of Student Affairs.

Submit Your Transfer Tips and Stories!

Take part in our social media campaign. We are looking for tips for success and/or highlights of your Rutgers experience. Below are some prompts that you can use to get you thinking, or you can share anything else that comes to mind:

  • What is a helpful tip that helped your transition and success at Rutgers?
  • What has been the best part about coming to Rutgers?
  • What’s been the most helpful resource or person?
  • Why are you proud to be a Scarlet Knight?
  • Why did you choose Rutgers?
  • What do you want other Rutgers students to know about transfer students?
  • What do you want your fellow transfers to know/hear?

You can also submit a photo of yourself, a video or an Instagram reel of you talking about the prompts above, a favorite spot on campus, a person that has helped in your transition, an org or department you are involved with - literally anything that may help to accompany your story. Academic Coaching Appointments
Sign up for 1-on-1 academic coaching or peer group coaching anytime to receive individualized coaching on finals preparation, study strategies, getting organized and more!  The content and structure of each individual coaching session is determined between you and your coach! All sessions are conducted by appointment or during open office hours and are confidential.  Make an Appointment. Peer Coaching Sessions
Offered 4 different times and locations each week of all semester

Student Success Resource
Success.rutgers.edu is dedicated to helping students find all of the services and resources to succeed and is organized around four themes: Success Essentials, Academic Support Services, Involvement & Community, and Experiential Learning & Career Preparation. The site is easily searchable and includes important "How To" instructional videos and guides for topics such as Course Scheduling, Add/Drop, Canvas, Teams, the Handshake Career Management platform, and more!

The Office of the Dean of Students – Student Support
Reach out to us if you are in need of assistance or support regarding personal or academic-related challenges. Our office serves as a student support network by providing connections, advocacy, problem resolution, and critical incident intervention. We are located at 88 College Avenue and you can contact us at 848-932-2300 or email deanofstudents@echo.rutgers.edu. We also have virtual drop in hours Monday – Thursday 1:30pm – 4:30pm. Rutgers Student Health
Help is available and we are a community that cares. We encourage students to reach out and utilize the mental health resources we provide. Visit our website for all the services and resources. We have 24/7 Crisis & Resources and campus support resources for non-crisis situations through Counseling, Alcohol & Other Drug Assistance Program & Psychiatric Services (CAPS)
•    Mental health services, health.rutgers.edu/CAPS, 848-932-7884. M–F, 8:30 am–4:30 pm. A CAPS counselor is always available during regular business hours for students with immediate needs, (walk in or by phone 848-932-7884).
•    CAPS After Hours: A telephone-based counseling service available to Rutgers students when CAPS is closed. Call the main CAPS number, 848-932-7884, and follow the prompts.
•    Let’s Talk: informal, one-session consultations, 848-932-7884.

Wellness Coaching with Peer Coaches
HOPE’s Peer Coaches and certified ACE Behavior Change Specialists provide wellness coaching sessions to students.  Coaches will work with students to identify wellness goals and work through solutions for meeting those goals.  For more information visit Wellness Coaches.

One Stop acts as a “single point of service” across the areas of financial aid, student accounts, and registration. We are here to help you! Questions can be submitted using the contact form , by phone at 848-445-4636 (INFO), or by visiting the us at Dr. Samuel Dewitt Proctor Hall located at 65 Davidson Road on Busch Campus. No appointments are necessary for walk-ins.

14th Annual Homecoming Charity Bed Races
